And what a collection, from the Boyle Family's Bible in the Gaspé, to a rotary phone used at Quebec City's Jeffrey Hale Hospital to check on seniors in the community. So far, the QAHN has generated a list of 99 items and they are now looking for the 100th object. This week, they are asking the public for suggestions. Teams of canoeists powered their way through those unforgiving floes on the St-Lawrence heaving their way from Quebec City to Levis and back. Strong, intensely trained men usually compete in this sport. Up until recent years, there are increasing amounts of women with their own teams. But rare among them is to have a team where almost all the women in the canoe had a baby over the past year or so. Jacquie Czernin met up with the women from team George V as they got geared up for the big race.
