Winschgaoug Cree pilot remembers 9/11 Sep 25, 2012 | 7:54September saw the 11th anniversary of 9/11, when two American airlines were hijacked and flown into New York`s World trade Center.
People all over the world, including Eyou Istchee, were shocked by the tragedy. Air Creebec`s pilot of 16 years, Willard Petagumskum, of Whapmagoostui remembers that day. Joshua Loon spoke to him about it.

Six youth, along with a guide and a trail-maker left the community heading to Chisasibi on January 16th. From there, they plan to continue all the way to Ottawa in support of Idle No More. Five young men and their guide are headed to Ottawa in support of the Idle no More movement and also to show that the youth of Eeyou Istchee still have a strong culture. Elder Anne Kawapit Snr has two grandsons and two sons on this Journey. She spoke with Melissa Natachequan shortly after the departure.

The original group of 6 youth and 1 guide left Chisasibi on Monday, February 4th with 25 more people from Whapmagoostui and Chiasibi. Joshua Loon spoke with Gabriel Herodier to find out the latest.
Gabriel Herodier from Chisasibi, he is in charge with the arrival and departure in his hometown.
Herodier says the departure date was very busy day for us, they had a bit of delayed a bit but we manage.

Jane Blacksmith is the director of community wellness. She says a revision of how people are detained at the police station is needed to keep everyone safe. The Mistissini band council discussed the petition on February 26 and decided to move forward with the suggestion. Joshua Loon spoke with Deputy Chief John S. Matoush.

But people are busy and when the elders are stuck at home alone, they can get lonely. A few years ago the Cree Health Board began setting up Multi-Service Day Centers in each community.
