Antarctic Recovery Called Off
The Trailbreaker's Joslyn Oosenbrug speaks with Peter West of the National Science Foundation about the twin otter airplane that crashed in Antarctica with three Canadians on board. The U.S. Government Agency manages the U.S. Antarctic program, and is co-ordinating recovery efforts with New Zealand. Over the weekend they made the call to leave the plane where it crashed. The wreckage is largely embedded in snow and ice on a steep mountain slope.
