Eyou Dipajimoon Serious motorcycle accident raises safety concerns Aug 23, 2012 | 7:53A motorcycle accident in Chisasibi has raised some questions about road safety in the community. A young man in his 20's hit a hydro pole on August 17, 2012. He was immediately airlifted to Montreal for treatment, where he remains. The young man suffered serious injuries after hitting a hydro pole.
He was rushed to hospital in Montreal, were he is undergoing a series of operations.
I spoke with Archie Moar with first responders in Chisasibi to find out more and to talk about the issue of driving safely in the communities.

MP Romeo Saganash tabled a private members bill that would require federal laws to be compatible with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which calls for equal treatment and a recognition that aboriginal people have the right to maintain their distinct culture. Abel Bosum, Chief Neotiator for the Crees, says getting a private member's bill passed is a long shot but worth trying. He explained what it could mean to the Crees in this interview with Joshua Loon.
