WAM Nov17-18 Laxshmi Puja
Diwali - commonly known as the festival of lights - is perhaps the most important Hindu festival. It is part of five days of celebrations performed by Hindus at this time of year. It is to celebrate the return of the god Rama after 14 years of exile. Yesterday I had the priviege of attending the Laxshmi Puja at the Hindu temple in St. John's. Mina Acharaya explained the ceremony and its importance in the life of Hindus.
