Crosstalk - Is the proposed Newfoundland Power rate hike too high?
Your electricity bills could be going up. Newfoundland power is asking the Public Utilities board to approve a proposed 7.2 per cent rate hike for residential customers and a 0.6 - 6.0 per cent for commercial customers. They also looking for substantial increases in the rates of its returns to shareholders. Over ten per cent this year and the next. Newfoundland Power has been making its case before the PUB.
