The province's first baby of 2013 was born enroute to the hospital in an ambulance.

The first baby born in Nfld and Labrador this year arrived at 4:18 in the morning on New Year's Day. Nicholas Benmore was born in an ambulance on the way to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's. Jennifer MacDonald is the proud mother. CBC Reporter Zach Goudie caught up with her and baby Nicholas resting comfortable at the hospital.
