Randy Simms Talkshow Fallout
A heated conversation between a popular radio show host and an Innu Chief has everyone in Labrador talking today. Yesterday morning, Natuashish Chief Simeon Tshakapesh called into Open Line and spoke with host Randy Simms. Tshakapesh says he will continue to hunt caribou even though the goverment banned hunting for five years. Here's part of that conversation with reaction from Tony Chubbs from the Labrador Hunting And Fishing Association.. and...These comments lead to a sea of facebook status updates and tweets from Labradorians yesterday. Quite a few complaints have been filed with the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council. Lori Dyson is one of those people who filed a complaint. She feels Randy's comments were racist. She joins us on the line from Makkovik this morning.
