Happy Valley Goose Bay student wins a national art award

She uses her family's history to create embroidery art pieces. Whitney French is a fourth year visual arts student at Memorial University's Grenfell campus in Corner Brook. Whitney grew up in Labrador. Her family inspired art pieces put her in the spotlight when she recently received a Two Thousand dollar arts scholarship from Art Dealers Association of Canada. Colleen Connors reached Whitney at her home in Corner Brook.
