A Vigil for Chief Theresa Spence
Last night, people in Happy Valley-Goose Bay gathered for a special night of prayer for Chief Theresa Spence. The First Nations leader has been on a hunger strike in Ontario for more than two weeks. She's part of a national movement protesting the federal government's omnibus Bill C-45. Many believe the bill puts aboriginal treaty rights and the environment under threat. The NunatuKavut Community Council organized the vigil. Kirk Lethbridge was there. He joins us by phone.
