Caribou expert says - Hunting Ban is not the answer

One caribou expert doubts a five year ban on caribou hunting will do much to protect the herd. Biologist Jim Schaefer thinks the George River herd will stay below 20,000 animals for the next twenty to forty years and a ban on hunting altogether just means the people of Labrador will lose their intimate connection with caribou. For more on what he thinks should be done to conserve the herd, Jim Schaefer joins Colleen Connors by telephone.
