Labrador Morning | Feb 14, 2013 | 6:54
We have reaction now to a story that ran on Labrador Morning yesterday...the high levels of chemicals in water supplies in more than 100 communities around the province. The chemicals come from mixing chlorine with leaves, animal by-products and other organic matter. Health Canada says at least two of these chemicals may lead to serious health problems - including cancer - when consumed for prolonged periods of time. One of the 8 affected communities in Labrador is Rigolet, where some of these chemicals ranged from double to four times the levels Health Canada recommends. Rigolet Angakkok Charlotte Wolfrey joins Tony Dawson by phone from Rigolet.
