One year later - Remembering Burton winters
On Friday, it was standing room only as people gathered in Happy Valley-Goose Bay to remember Burton Winters The 14-year-old's body was discovered on the sea ice near Makkovik on February 1st 2012. It's a tragedy that has galvanized people right across Labrador and the province in his memory. There were heartfelt speeches, songs and drumdancing...as well as a poem and a prayer all honouring the teen who lost his life while bravely trying to find his way home. Labrador Morning's John Gaudi went to the vigil at the EJ Broomfield Arena. This is what it sounded like.
