New Musical Highlights Gander's Efforts After 9/11
Most Newfoundlanders already know the story of the plane people who were grounded in Gander during 9/11. The town normally had about 9000 residents, but was inundated by almost 6700 people from those flights. Composers David Hein and Irene Sankoff hope their new musical will bring that story to audiences across North America. Their play, "Come From Away," features tales of stranded passengers and the local volunteers who helped them. The CBC's David Newell spoke to David Hein and Irene Sankoff about the show.
