The Hope to Keep Schools Open
There's exactly one week left before the Eastern School District decides the fate of several schools under its jurisdiction. Among the schools targeted for closure or partial closure is Catalina Elementary. Parents have been having meetings, and vocal protests against busing their children long distances to other schools. Dale Kirby is the NDP critic for education, and he's attended a lot of those meetings. He thinks there's still hope the parents might win the fight.
