Minister of Environment and Conservation - Caribou Numbers

The Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association says the George River Caribou herd will be eradicated by 2016 if people continue to harvest them. The mortality rate for adult caribou is 30 percent and calf production is at an all time low of 5 per cent and the herd is still declining. The association is calling for the provincial government to develop a full plan to stop the herd from declining further. For more this morning the Minister of Environment and Conservation, Tom Hedderson is on the line.
