Chief hockey referee defends his officials
Yesterday on our show, we heard from Shawn Crann. He's a hockey dad in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and he's defending MHA Keith Russell. Last weekend, Russell was coaching at a youth hockey game and was ejected for yelling obscenities. He's since received a six-game suspension from Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador. But Shawn Crann says the ref at the game must take part of the blame for the incident. Don Kelly takes exception to placing blame on the officials for bad behaviour by coaches. Kelly's the referee in chief for Hockey NL. CBC's Leigh Ann Power reached him in St.John's.
