Timing your Block Heaters
The extreme cold weather hasn't hit Labrador yet, but people are making sure their vehicles are ready for those thirty below days.. A block heater is essential to make sure your engine starts when its gets really cold. Most people keep them plugged in all night. Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says that isn't necessary and they have started an effort to get people to use block heater timers. As a matter of fact, they are giving away a lot of those devices. Simone Browne is the energy efficiency Manager with Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro. Labrador Morning's Mike Power asked her where this idea came from.
