Emergency Taxi Service?
On Wednesday's show, we heard from Blaine and Melanie Hearn. The couple live in Gander, and last Sunday morning, when Melanie woke up unable to move, they called an ambulance. Though the hospital was just minutes away, they were told only one ambulance was on duty. They waited nearly an hour for help to arrive. Well, we've got another ambulance story for you this morning. Tom Whalen is the Gander man who was paralyzed after getting hit in the head by a baseball last summer. He collapsed at home one day and called the hospital for help.
