Municipal Emergency in Gander

Last month, we spoke with James Blackwood, who's the town of Gander's director of municipal works. We discussed a water quality test that showed some samples in the newer parts of the community, farthest away from the water treatment plant, contained low levels of chlorine. When chlorine levels drop, of course, bacteria counts begin to rise. Blackwood told us the town dealt with that issue and the levels are fine. Now, though, the town is asking the provincial government for emergency money to address the larger problem. Kevin O'Brien is the minister of municipal affairs and MHA for Gander.
