    Diane's Story Pt. 1

We have an exclusive story about a crime victim from Isle Aux Morts who is using all of her strength to get her life back to normal. The woman - who is in her fifties - was kidnapped and held prisoner for 26 days in a basement apartment in Moncton, New Brunswick. After escaping her captor, it became clear she had been tied up with rope and duct tape and she was frequently raped. When her disappearance made national news headlines two and a half years ago, her identity was everywhere because she was a missing person. We are identifying her as 'Diane,' because of a subsequent court order that prevents us from releasing her name. A warning, 'Diane's' story is difficult - you may wish to escort younger listeners away from the radio. But it is also a story filled with hope and resiliency, and for the first time since her case went to court, Diane agreed to tell her story. She sat down with the CBC's Anthony Germain last week.
