But three local students from Vincent Massey Collegiate and St Paul's High School have created one that is catching on in a big way.
"Musi" is a streaming music app that allows you to make playlists from YouTube and operate them through the app rather than the usual download approach.
Aaron Wojnowski, David Bell and Christian Lunney are the brains behind this creation and they spoke about it with Larry Updike.

Second chances are a part of life according to Mandela Kuet.
He's a Sudanese refugee who made headlines in 2007.
A judge ordered him to face deportation hearings for his criminal behavior inside an African street gang called the Mad Cowz.
Mandela has spent the last three years trying to turn his life around but it's not easy to convince others to believe in him.
He is a part of the Human Library, and he spoke to Larry Updike on Up to Speed.
