Human Library Project - Earthship
The Human Library is back for another year at the Winnipeg Public Library. Instead of signing out a book you can sign out real people, sit down with them, hear their stories and ask questions. All of the human books have a human rights bent to them. We have advance copies of some of the stories to entice you to check it out. Our next guests have quite a tale to tell about their plan to get off the grid in Manitoba. Winnipeggers Nicole Bennett and Kris Plantz sold their city house last year and bought a lot in St. Andrews. That's where they have started to build their new eco friendly home. But it's not just any home-- it's a Global Earthship House. A non-conventional design that might make you look twice....because it uses 80% recycled materials. They told Marcy Markusa all about it on Information Radio.
