Journey of Nishiyuu arrives at their 4th stop of Waskaganish

The Journey of Nishiyuu continues making it's way to Ottawa. On February 19th the group arrived at their 4th stop of Waskaganish. So far, they have walked over 650 km on their way to Ottawa. Melissa Natachequan spoke with Matthew Mukash to get the lastest.

Eyou Dipajimoon Grand Chief a keynote speaker at large treaty conference Mar 13, 2013 | 10:59Those taking part in a national land claims conference in Gatineau are hoping to make the federal government more accountable for treaty implementation. The "Keeping the Promise" Conference brought together more than 300 First Nations and Inuit leaders, government representatives, academics, industry people and others from February 26 to March 1. They hope to lay the foundation for a modern treaty implementation policy and create an annual "report card" to evaluate how well the government is doing with regard to treaty implementation. As the nation that signed the first modern treaty back in the 1970's, Cree Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come was one of the keynote speakers at the event. Joshua Loon spoke with him.
