Merritt soup kitchen offers up "bowls of love"
Every Tuesday, a small soup kitchen in Merritt serves up about 100 bowls of soup. The meals are for homeless people, for people a little down on their luck, and some who just need a little help. Ernie and Pam Whittaker are nearing their 80s. Still, they keep running the kitchen every week all year, just as they have for more than a decade. One lunch hour recently, Daybreak's Josh Pagé dropped by Merritt's Community Bread Basket.
