Cree youth walks to Ottawa to support Spence

17-year-old David Kawapit Jr from Whapmagoostui was so inspired by the efforts of Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence, he decided to walk all the way from his community to Ottawa to show his support. Spence has been on a hunger strike since December 11th, asking to meet Prime Minister Stephen Harper to discuss treaty issues affecting her people. David Kawapit expects to spend two months on snowshoes and winter boots to join her struggle. He spoke with Roderick Rabbitskin a few days before his departure.
