People are still talking about the shocker from the courts in St. John's yesterday. An acquittal was entered in the second degree murder trial of Ray Newman. He was charged in 2009. Two years earlier his estranged wife - Chrissy Predham Newman - was killed in her basement apartment in St. John's. In throwing out the evidence and finding Newman not guilty, the judge came down hard on the investigation techniques of the police.
