An Explosive Mystery
It's one of the strangest discoveries in recent years. Earlier this month, RCMP unearthed 60-kilograms of plastic explosive on an acreage near Martensville, just north of Saskatoon. It's called DM 12, and it was made by the Germans in World War 2. The explosives were buried in pails, along with the cables used to detonate it. The RCMP were tipped off by the relative of a man who'd just died. The relative came across a reference to the buried explosives in the dead man's papers. The RCMP never revealed the dead man's identity -- or the location of the acreage.
