Local elder starts hunger strike for Idle No More
The Idle No More campaiign continues to grow. The movement is in opposition to Bill C 45. That's a federal government Omnibus bill with a lot of provisions that many First Nation leaders say they should have been consulted about. Chief Theresa Spence of Attawapiskat has reached Day 23 of her hunger strike. She's demanding a meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Now, Spence will have company in her hunger strike from a Kamloops First Nations elder. Former Tk-emlups band councillor Evelyn Camille is now refusing to eat or drink. In studio with me is Daybreak's Samantha Garvey.
