Two chiefs from the Mikisew Cree and Frog Lake First Nations in Alberta have launched a court challenge against the federal government. Joe Dion is an advisor and CEO of Frog Lake Energy Resource Corporation. A new study on oilsands development has found an increased level of toxins in lakes in Northern Alberta, since oilsands development started. Melissa Blake is Mayor of the Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Alberta's Ethics Commissioner is investigating Premier Alison Redford over a possible conflict of interest.
