Penguin Poop Leads to Unknown Colony Discovery
Scientists at the British Antarctic Survey got excited back in 2009 when satellite images clearly showed a colossal trail of poop. It could mean only one thing: a massive and previously undiscovered colony of penguins. But for four years, the location of the colony in question remained a mystery – until Alain Hubert of the International Polar Foundation led a daring mission to track down the source of the droppings.
