Counselling Children After The Newtown School Tragedy
What unfolded yesterday at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, is unimaginable. The scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School brought back a flood of memories for Ann Bauer. In 1998, two young boys, aged 13 and 11, pulled a fire alarm at Westside Middle School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Then they opened fired from nearby woods. Four students and a teacher were killed. Ann Bauer was part of a team of psychologists and counselors who rushed to the school to provide emergency psychiatric aid.
