Saving the George River Caribou Herd?

There’s an aboriginal summit in Kuujjuaq Nunavik this week. The topic of discussion? The drastically declining George River Caribou Herd… And leaders from the Nunatsiavut government will be there. The president of Nunatsiavut wants to see the herd rebound now and is asking all Nunatsiavut beneficiaries to stop hunting this year. She hopes other first nation groups at this summit will understand why drastic measures are needed to save the herd. Sarah Leo joins Colleen Connors on the phone from Nain.
