Tracking What You Buy
Andreas Weigend is one of the brains behind the now commonplace ways companies track your day-to-day habits -- things like the way Amazon knows what books you read better than your own friends and family. But now the technology actually exists to follow your purchases as you stroll in and out of shops in your hometown. Andreas Weigend is the former chief scientist at Amazon.com and an expert in social technologies and consumer behaviour. He's was in Saint John for the Big Data Congress.
