Lowering speed limits on bridges during the winter
This week we have been talking about the incredible accident that happened on Circle Drive Bridge north. On Monday, a 23 year old woman lost control and ended up sailing off the bridge into the icy river below. She survived, after climbing out of the vehicle and getting help from the police and a bystander. Police ruled out speed and alcohol. A spokesperson for the police said that the snow banks along the guard rail were a factor in the accident. Dan Kerslake asked councillor Darren Hill if we should consider lowering speeds on the bridges in the winter.
