Did you do much shovelling over the weekend? You'll want to pay attention to this. This winter, many people in Saskatoon will visit the ER because they've hurt themselves shoveling snow. Often, those injuries involve the lower back. But could it all be because they're not using the right snow shovel? Ryan Lewinson is a Ph.D student in biomedical engineering at the University of Calgary. He recently published an article in the journal Applied Ergonomics on that very subject. We reached him in Calgary.
