LAC DU BONNET BEAR CUBS

Two young bears mourning over the body of their dead mother. It's reportedly the scene that witnesses discovered on the weekend after a mother bear had been killed near Lac du Bonnet. Manitoba Conservation attended the scene....but did not immediately try and recapture the bear cubs. In fact one witness says it looked like they just tried to scare them off. With the memory of Makoon still fresh in the minds of animal lovers...they are once again calling on Manitoba Conservation to change how it handles orphaned bear cubs. Jim Duncan is a wildlife expert with Manitoba Conservation. I spoke with him on Monday.
