Training was given by the Canadian Institution for Conflict Resolution to some people in the communities. The program is about finding ways to help people who come out of prison reintegrate back into society. The not-for-profit company has started installing the fibre-optic into some Cree communities in Eeyou Istchee. One of the company's mandates is to train local people to work for them. Both the Catholic and Anglican bishops, as well as a priest came to listen to the testimony on February 5th and 6th.
Reverend Tom Corston is the Anglican bishop for Moosonee -- the diocese that includes Eeyou Istchee. He says it was important for him to be there.

Eyou Dipajimoon Serious motorcycle accident raises safety concerns Aug 23, 2012 | 7:53A motorcycle accident in Chisasibi has raised some questions about road safety in the community. A young man in his 20's hit a hydro pole on August 17, 2012. He was immediately airlifted to Montreal for treatment, where he remains. Joshua Loon spoke with Archie Moar with the First Response Unit in Chisasibi.
The young man suffered serious injuries after hitting a hydro pole.
He was rushed to hospital in Montreal, were he is undergoing a series of operations.
I spoke with Archie Moar with first responders in Chisasibi to find out more and to talk about the issue of driving safely in the communities.
