Eyou Dipajimoon (Cree) Crees give $58K for Wesley Prankard's playgrounds Aug 13, 2012 | 14:58Cree band councils and entities have dug into their budgets to help a non-Aboriginal kid from southern Ontario build playgrounds in Ontario Cree communities. At the annual general assembly in Waskaganish, 13-year-old Wesley Prankard told the story of how he's been trying to help the people of Attawapiskat. Quebec Crees responded by pitching in $58,000. Eyou Dipajimoon (Cree) Cree Nation All Star team in 6 Nations Challenge Aug 20, 2012 | 12:36Aboriginal football players from Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec are in Ottawa until August 26th for the third annual 6 Nations Challenge. The goal of the tournament is to help develop First Nations players. It is organised by the Ontario Football Alliance, as well as the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) and Football Canada. Eyou Istchee is sending an All-Star team to take part. The completion of the clinic was delayed when mold started developing in the building before it was even finished. A young man in his 20's hit a hydro pole on August 17, 2012. He was immediately airlifted to Montreal for treatment, where he remains. Joshua Loon spoke with Archie Moar with the First Response Unit in Chisasibi. The young man suffered serious injuries after hitting a hydro pole. He was rushed to hospital in Montreal, were he is undergoing a series of operations. I spoke with Archie Moar with first responders in Chisasibi to find out more and to talk about the issue of driving safely in the communities.

The goal of "David's Journey" was to raise money to support families of people who have been diagnosed with cancer. A group of people were waiting at Espresso Hotel in Montreal, where many Cree Patient's stay, to welcome him home. Joshua Loon was amoung them.

Maybel Herodier says residents from Ouje Bougoumou, Waswasnipi and Nemaska will also have access to new hemodialysis machines. The new mini hospital has eight hemodialysis machines, four of which will be in operation at any given time.
