European soccer thugs are scary. But mortars and artillery are much, much scarier. Especially the first time, as Margot Dunne recently discovered. She's a British journalist who normally covers the pitched battles of soccer for the BBC in Berlin. So covering the Russian assault on Georgia was quite a different game, with some very dangerous players. But she survived to tell her kids about it. Us too.
