Current MLA: Gail Shea (PC) , Minister of Transportation and Public Works Riding Profile: The northwestern tip of P.E.I. is traditionally a fishing area, but the area is perhaps now better known for its wind energy research site at North Cape. North Cape recently began producing electricity commercially. A new visitor’s centre was launched there in the summer of 2003. The major centre in the riding is Tignish (pop. 831).
