Riding Profile: The fishing industry dominates this riding which stretches from the north to the west shore. Mill River is the site of a major resort, golf course and water park. Alberton (pop. 1,115) is the major centre but Miminegash (pop. 188) is an important fishing port.

The hospital in Alberton is one of three west of Summerside.

 

 


Political History: This district includes the former 1st Prince district ... some of the safest Liberal territory in Prince Edward Island until the general election of 2000. Liberal Robert Campbell was elected councillor for 1st Prince in nine consecutive elections beginning in 1962.
