Haley's Cookies, formerly Annabel's Cookies

Start with the right ingredients for this recipe. The secret is in the milk chocolate chips.

Haley's Cookies, formerly Annabel's CookiesIngredients:

  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 blocks of margarine
  • vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 3/4 cups of rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups of coconut
  • 1 bag Hershey's milk chocolate chips

Put the sugars, margarine and eggs in a large bowl and beat well.

Stir in a bit of vanilla and salt.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well with clean hands.

Roll into balls.

Place on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.

This recipe should make about 5 dozen cookies depending on how many people come by and sneak raw cookie dough!

Rosemary Batchilder and Kevin GallantRosemary Batchilder explains that the original recipe for these cookies came from her daughter's teacher named Annabel

Rosemary, a resident of Morrison's Beach, changed the recipe slightly adding the chocolate chips. When her youngest daughter Haley brought a batch to school the children started calling them Haley's cookies.
