GRACE KELLY, DESTINY OF A PRINCESS
Director Patrick Jeudy was in a cab in New York City on Sept. 14, 1982 when he first heard of the tragic death of Grace Kelly. Ever since that fateful day, he longed to make a film about the graceful and iconic actress. Grace Kelly: Destiny of a Princess is a unique documentary that focuses on the romance and fairytale wedding of Kelly to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956.
Set almost entirely within the period of May 1955 to May 1956, Grace Kelly: Destiny of a Princess focuses on the meeting, courtship and wedding of the two main characters. In the spring of 1955, Kelly had been on the French Riviera for the Cannes Film Festival when a French magazine arranged a photo shoot with Prince Rainier at his palace in nearby Monaco. Shortly after that first encounter the couple began to correspond secretly. A relationship ensued that culminated with the "Wedding of the Century"-one of the most lavish and reported events of the decade.
Told from the viewpoint of 1950s America, Grace Kelly: Destiny of a Princess is a story about the marriage of an American movie queen and a European prince captivating the world.
Grace Kelly: Destiny of a Princess was written and directed by Patrick Jeudy and produced by Luc Martin-Gousset.
