Q: There is no sound coming from my device. How can I fix it?

Please check to make sure the mute button on your device is in the off position.

Go to Settings > Sounds and use the slider to check the volume level for your device.

You can also try restarting the app or uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

If the problem persists, there may be a problem with the device. Contact us at kidscbc@cbc.ca and we’ll see if we can help.


Q: My app says it isn’t connected to the internet even though the device is connected to wifi. What’s wrong?

i) Double check that your device is connected to a mobile data network or a wifi network. To connect via wifi, go to Settings > Wifi and tap on the name of the wifi network you wish to join.

ii)  You may need to update to the latest version of an app.

To ensure your Apple device is running the latest version, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store >  Automatic Downloads and turn on Updates function.

Alternatively, you can visit the app page within the App Store and use the Updates button to manually update the app.

To ensure your Android device is running the lastest version, open the Google Play Store app. Go to Menu > My Apps.  Select the CBC Kids’ app you wish to update. Go to Menu > check the box next to Auto Update. This will ensure the app updates automatically when updates are available.


Q: My app keeps crashing. What’s wrong? How can I fix it?

There are many reasons why your app may be crashing.There are a few things you can do to fix it:

  1. Try restarting your device.

  2. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed on your device.

  3. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

  4. If the app is still crashing, contact us at kidscbc@cbc.ca. We’d love to help. Please include the app, the device you’re using and the operating system you have installed on your device.


Q: Why doesn't CBC Kids' have more Android apps?

We’re working to expand our Android offerings. Have you tried SPYnet or Chirp Appisodes?


Q: Are CBC Kids’ apps available in French?

CBC Kids’ apps are not available in French.

Radio-Canada has a terrific site for kids with lots of French games and videos.

Radio-Canada also offers lots of apps for Apple and Android devices. 


Q: What is CBC Kids’ privacy policy? Who do I contact regarding CBC Kids’ privacy policy?

CBC Kids' apps and websites never collect personal information.

We don't collect or store names, photos, addresses, location, phone numbers or other personal information from kids. We use IP anonymization on our kids' websites to obscure visitors' IP addresses. More >

All personal information collection (from parents/guardians) adheres to CBC's Privacy Policy. Any questions or comments concerning our privacy policy can be directed to the CBC Privacy Coordinator.

TV For Me FAQs

Q: What devices does the TV for Me App work on?

A: The TV for Me App will work on any iPad device running iOS 6 or newer. 


Q: Why can’t I view all episodes of Kids’ CBC Shows?

A: Due to licensing or broadcasting restrictions, some episodes and shows are not available for the TV For Me App.


Q: Why doesn’t TV for Me work outside of Canada?

Our distribution licences for CBC Kids’ videos are restricted to Canada.

Unfortunately, if you reside outside of Canada, we are prevented from distributing CBC Kids’ videos to you.


Q: Do I need to be connected to the internet to use TV For Me?

Yes, the TV For Me App requires an internet connection to function. This could be either a connection to a mobile data network or a wifi connection. 

To connect via wifi on your device, go to Settings > Wifi and tap on the name of the wifi network you wish to join.


Q: How can I ensure we always have an up-to-date version of TV for Me?

CBC Kids’ regularly releases new updates for TV for Me to ensure the best user experience possible.

To ensure your Apple device is running the latest version, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store >  Automatic Downloads and turn on Updates function.

Alternatively, you can visit the app page within the App Store and use the Updates button to manually update the app.
