The Journey Continues for AJ and Stephanie
Ahoy there Rainbow fans! It's been two weeks since Over the Rainbow wrapped and winner Danielle Wade is hard at work rehearsing for The Wizard of Oz.
But what about our other two wonderful finalists, you ask? We had a chance to speak with runners-up Stephanie La Rochelle and AJ Bridel to get the scoop on how things have been going since they were on the show.
Q. Can you tell us a little about what you've been up to since Over the Rainbow?
A. 'Literally 30 minutes after I flew in back home to Ottawa from Toronto, I received a phone call from a casting director for an audition. I took the train back to Toronto the next day; Danielle was so kind and let me crash at her place! I auditioned for a small part in a new CTV pilot called Satisfaction and got the job! I'm back in Toronto this week for the shooting. Very exciting!'
A. 'Since I have gotten home my family, friends and community have kept me busier than I ever expected to be. I am so lucky to be from such a supportive home town, where the community has asked me to participate in as many social events as I possibly can! On top of that, I have been out auditioning and enjoying the life of an up and coming actress with a fantastic agent! I am so lucky to have such a great team behind me and I can't wait to be able to announce what I am doing next!'
Q. Any final thoughts on the whole competition?
A. 'I remember what it felt like to be looking ahead at this amazing opportunity in June and thinking how great this adventure could be. I never expected to be looking back having had the pleasure of soaking up every ounce of the show and all the fantastic opportunities that I took part in. It is safe to say I am even more determined, even more passionate and even more eager to learn more thanks to this competition. I know all us girls will stay good friends and I couldn't be more excited to see them all star in their next show!'
A. 'I don't know where to start! This experience has been a spring board for my career and a dream come true. I have learned so much about the industry, I've grown as a performer; and this experience has given me so much confidence and I've learned to trust and to believe in myself. Everybody involved have been so incredible to work with and the support out there is unbelievable; so thank you. This competition has given me opportunities that I never imagined possible and friendships that will last a lifetime; I couldn't ask for anything more.
Q. Where do you see yourself headed in the next year or two?
A. 'In the next year or two, I hope to see myself on stage or on screen somewhere! I'm in the midst of finding an agent and from there I hope to be working in the industry for years to come.'
A. 'I think the best part about this business is that you can never plan your next step. Where do I see myself? I see myself doing exactly what I did on the show. Working with fantastic people, always giving a hundred percent and enjoying it every step of the way. Hopefully I get to revisit my Over the Rainbow cast and crew at some point in the near future.'
Here's hoping the adventure continues for our bright young stars as they begin their careers in earnest! Best of luck to you AJ and Stephanie!
