The Weekender - Info on Cultural Festivals

You can travel the world without leaving the city this weekend. Three cultural festivals are happening across town. Here's info on all of them, from the festival organizers:

The Ottawa Egyptian Festival will be held at St. Mary Coptic Christian Church in Nepean.

Among the attractions: A photo booth where you can try on the festival's version of ancient Egyptian garb.

Nardine Roufaiel (left) will manage the photo booth.

Starts tonight. Runs until Sunday, July 21, 2013.

George Hannah (right) is the head organizer.

Here he holds the instrument that will be used for Saturday's water drinking contest: a brik.

Started on Wednesday. Ends on Sunday, July 21, 2013.

And seven years ago he and some friends started Festival Haiti.

It's happening on Petrie Island.
