syria.jpgA state-run media report out of Syria says the country's President Bashar al-Assad has granted a general amnesty for all crimes committed during the ten-month uprising. It would even apply to soldiers who deserted the Syrian army - providing they turn themselves in before the end of the month. This Morning Robyn Bresnahan spoke to the CBC's Margaret Evans who's in Damascus. And Peter Jones a professor specializing in the Middle East at the University of Ottawa.
