We had a ball hosting Giller-prize winning author, Joseph Boyen and author/CBC videojournalist Waubgeshig Rice at a special Canada Reads event in Ottawa on February 25 at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health. It was a fascinating conversation on "Aboriginal Storytelling in the Modern Age".
If you missed it, you can watch a video reply of the evening at cbcbooks.ca.
Also on hand for the evening was Alan Neal, host of CBC All in a Day, who moderated the discussion and Lucy van Oldenbarneveld who was onsite to anchor CBC News Ottawa at 6 on location. Watch the show on demand to catch Lucy's interview with Joseph Boyden and a special report on the exciting cultural activities that happen at Wabano every week.
The discussion was part of Canada Reads 2104 where Boyden's novel "The Orenda" vies to be crowned winner in the search for "One Novel to Change Our Nation". You can tune into Canada Reads 2014 on CBC Radio One, 91.5 FM at 11 a.m., CBC-TV at 4 p.m. and online at CBC Books at 10 a.m., March 3 - 6.
