Escape from the Cold

Looking for some warmth this winter?

Escape the cold with a bit of Brazilian Carnival, right here in Ottawa - and support CHEO in the process.

Join Adrian Harewood, anchor of CBC News Ottawa weekdays at 5 and 11 as he hosts Brazilian Fever, a celebration of the Brazilian love of music, dance and revelry. It's an evening of spectacular carnival costumes, samba and an exciting line-up of performers such as Banda Bracatum, Dance Migration & Capoeira Camara, and Batucada Carioca.

CBC in Ottawa is celebrating the arrival of Brazilian carnival with some programming that you won't want to miss.

Coming up on Wednesday, February 12 is a special Brazilian themed "D is for Dinner" on CBC All in a Day. Tune in to 91.5 FM from 3 - 6 to hear Alan's conversation with Guil Fernades, owner of Ottawa's "Delighftul Tastes" bakery. He'll introduce us to some tasty treats from his native Brazil, where found his life's calling helping out in his mother's bakery.

And this Friday on CBC News Ottawa, watch Adrian as he gets his first introduction to samba at the Ottawa Dance Studio in preparation for his appearance at Brazilian Fever. That's on CBC television starting at 5.
